KOMPIP is founded in year 2001.When it was founded the shape of KOMPIP organization is foundation. Its founding is administrated at Sunarto Notary Office as at April 4th 2001 Act no. 14. Notary Office SK Menteri Kehakiman RI tanggal 10 Mei 1993 No. C.93. HT 03.01-TH.1993. Since 26 December 2007 KOMPIP has changed its shape from Foundation (Yayasan) to Association (Perkumpulan). The change is administrated no 143 at Sunarto, SH Notary Office SK Menteri Kehakiman RI tanggal 10 Mei 1993 No. C.93. HT 03.01-TH.1993. The spirit of the change is to complete organization needs on accountability of organization structure that implementing agency needs to be separated from Board of Trustee. KOMPIP is supported by The Ford Foundation and is working mainly on Democratization and Good Governance issues.

KOMPIP also handled the Disaster Risk Reduction, Strengthening livelihood and poverty reduction program. Currently, KOMPIP completed an audit of our community savings program. The audit was performed by Public Accounting Office Drs. Soeroso Donosapoetro (Audit CEF for RMF1 ; Audit CEF for RMF2) and was supported entirely by RMF (Real Medicine Foundation).
 

PAST KOMPIP'S ACHIEVEMENT

KOMPIP focusing on Citizen Forum as a vehicle to strengthen local democracy and good governance, KOMPIP will continue to facilitate three Citizen Forums in Solo (Solo Marginalised People’s Solidarity, SOMPIS), Sragen (Sragen Citizen Forum, FORMAS), and Boyolali (Boyolali Citizen Forum, FORABI). The City of Solo and the District of Sragen and Boyolali are located next to each other
 

SOMPIS
SOMPIS is a grassroots Citizen Forum that was established in 2001 by urban poor groups in the city of Solo. Its members consist of street vendors, disabled groups, street singers, rickshaw drivers, sex workers, and domestic helpers. In mid-2007, members of SOMPIS came to around three thousands people. FORABI
FORABI is a multi-stakeholders Citizen Forums that was established in 2001. Its members consist of individuals (NGO activist, lecturer, lawyer, teacher, village head, village senate, priest, student, small vendor, journalist, and local artist) and organizations such as farmers organization (Himpunan Tani Makmur, Paguyuban Petani Penggarap Tanah Karanggeneng), teachers organization (Forum Komunikasi Guru Boyolali), water consumers organization (Masyarakat Pengguna Air Umbul Nyamplung), public transport drivers organization (Paguyuban Sopir Angkot), artists organization (Boyolali Art Mission), and workers organization (SPSI, SBSI, SPTSK, and SBP).

FORMAS
FORMAS is a multi-stakeholders Citizen Forums that was established in 2001. Its members consist of individuals (students, lecturers, journalists) and religious organizations (NU Sragen, Sragen NU Scholar Associaton, Student/IPNU Sragen, Youth/Ansor Sragen, Youth/IPPNU Sragen, Youth/Pemuda Muhamadiyah Sragen), youth organizations (Youth Marhaen/Barisan Pemuda Marhaen Sragen), and NGOs (LSM Mahardika, Lingkar Study Sukowati, LSM Gerindo, Forum Masyarakat Independen Sragen, LPPM, DRRS, and Depresi). In 2007, constituents of FORMAS were around ten thousands people. FORMAS is a transparency and accountability watch dog organization.
